Sometimes the journey becomes the story.
This tour began in Edinburgh with a simple request: “Show us Scotland beyond the usual tourist trail.”
We started with lunch at the wonderful Monachyle Mhor in the Trossachs, then continued to Glencoe to visit the famous Skyfall filming location before checking in Glencoe House Hotel
The following day, we travelled via Castle Stalker and Dunstaffnage Castle, stopping at McCaig’s Tower and enjoying lunch at Coast Restaurant in Oban. We then dropped our clients off at the beautiful Isle of Eriska Hotel, Spa & Island
That evening, our driver-guide took the ferry to Colonsay to meet the family the next morning as they arrived by plane. Together, they explored the island and traced their family’s clan heritage, creating memories and connections to last a lifetime.
Then the unexpected happened.
Just five minutes before the ferry was due to arrive, the return sailing to Oban was cancelled due to high winds. The family had a wedding to attend, and missing it wasn’t an option.
Our driver-guide secured the last available hotel rooms on the island while the ETS team worked behind the scenes.
By the next morning, we had arranged a charter flight from Colonsay to Prestwick. We also organised an additional driver and vehicle to collect the family’s luggage from the Isle of Eriska Hotel. Our driver met the guests at Prestwick and took them to Glenapp Castle - A Relais & Châteaux Hotel
They arrived in time for the wedding rehearsal.
At Executive Transfer Scotland, we don’t just plan journeys. We look after people. And when things don’t go to plan, that’s when great service matters most.
