Welcome aboard, Dwynwen!
We’re delighted to welcome Dwynwen, D3A Sail's beautiful Rustler 36, to the Sunny Side Sailing fleet.
Over the past few months she’s been carefully prepared for her new role, and we’re incredibly excited to begin delivering RYA courses, Skills Days, Mile Building, Skippered Charter and Bareboat Charter from our home port of Fowey.
A huge thank you to everyone who’s helped along the way.
⛵ Alan and the team at Sail Shape Ltd for producing a superb new suit of sails that look every bit as good as they perform, as well as replacing all of her electronics from Raymarine radar, through plotter, displays to auto-pilot... plus some steering gear maintenance to boot!
⚓ Adam at ADR Marine for his expertise and hard work preparing the Dwynwen's machinery and windlass.
🛥️ Will Copeland for his professionalism and guidance throughout the coding process; I simply don't know how it would have worked without him.
📚 And, of course, the Royal Yachting Association, whose training and technical support throughout our growth as a recognised training centre has been consistently outstanding.
Dwynwen's been baptised on her first RYA Competent Crew / Day Skipper course (well done Helena, Julia and Jasper!), helping new sailors take their first steps aboard, supporting experienced skippers as they develop their skills, and introducing more people to the fantastic sailing we enjoy here on the Cornish coast.
Here’s to many safe miles, great adventures and fair winds ahead! And yes, Alan did put a lot of ♥ into those sails... can you spot it?
