‘Louise’s Tea & Travel Club’ is up and running! 🥹

Think lovely afternoon teas, brilliant venues, travel stories, destination inspiration, meeting new people and generally spending an afternoon talking about one of my favourite things in the world — travel 🌍

And the bit I’m MOST excited about? Every Tea & Travel event can be a little different depending on where we are and who I’m collaborating with.

The first events are now being planned with some fabulous venues and I genuinely cannot wait to see where this goes 🫖✈️

And I’d love to take the Tea & Travel Club to more places!

🥾 TREK TUESDAY | THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA 🇨🇳

One of the biggest adventures I’ve ever taken on — a full week trekking the Great Wall of China in aid of the Mental Health Foundation ❤️

And when I say trekking the Great Wall, I don’t mean arriving at one of the tourist sections, having a wander and taking a few photos…

Every day we had to climb a mountain just to reach the Wall — and then the day’s trekking started 😅

We trekked beautifully restored sections, crumbling and completely overgrown sections, tackled some fairly ridiculous gradients and climbed what felt like an endless number of steps.

Looking back, wearing a “NO PAIN NO GAIN” T-shirt was either excellent planning or a terrible mistake 😂

It was challenging, exhausting and absolutely incredible.

Some of my favourite travel memories haven’t come from simply visiting somewhere — they’ve come from getting out there and properly experiencing it.

And this one had the added privilege of raising money for a cause that means so much ❤️

Mauritius is one of those places I left thinking… when can I go back!? ❤️

Yes, the beaches really are that beautiful — but it’s so much more than a fly-and-flop destination.

🌴 Beautiful beaches
⛰️ Mountains and incredible scenery
🍹 Fabulous food & rum
🌺 Different cultures and little villages to explore
❤️ Some truly gorgeous hotels
⛳️ Cracking golf back drops

I’ve been lucky enough to experience Mauritius myself, and it’s definitely somewhere I recommend getting out of the resort and exploring.

🏎️🇮🇹 THE ITALIAN GRAND PRIX AT MONZA ❤️

If you’re an F1 fan, put this one on the list.

I went to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix and genuinely, the atmosphere is something else. The sea of red, the Ferrari fans, the noise, the Italian flypast… and getting to walk on the actual track afterwards! 🏁

Obviously I went fully committed to the occasion in Ferrari red 🤣❤️

And the best bit? You don’t have to choose between a city break and an F1 weekend. Stay in Milan, add in fabulous Italian food, w**e and sightseeing, then throw one of the most iconic races in the world into the middle of it 🇮🇹🍝🥂

This memory popped up today… and the timing couldn’t be better ❤️

When I was just 17 years old, I was incredibly lucky to be awarded a Churchill Travelling Fellowship The Churchill Fellowship ✈️

That opportunity gave me the chance to travel, learn and experience something completely outside my normal world, and then led to the rather surreal experience of receiving my Fellowship medallion from Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace 👑

Looking back, I don’t think 17-year-old me could possibly have known how much travel would shape the rest of my life!

I went on to live and work overseas, spend years in the w**e & spirits industry, travel to some incredible places and eventually build my own business as a Personal Travel Designer ✈️

Two years ago, I had the opportunity to return to the Churchill Fellowship Awards with Pol Roger (Official) who have supported the awards since the very beginning (and who I had 7 wonderful years as part of the w**e family!) This time I returned to watch a new generation of Fellows being celebrated. It was incredibly special to be back and to remember where one of my own earliest adventures began.

And now, another two years later, this memory has popped up just as applications for the next round of Churchill Fellowships are open.

So if you have an idea, a passion, or something you believe you could learn from people elsewhere in the world and bring back to benefit others here — have a look and consider applying.

I did. And I’m very glad I did ❤️

I’ve discovered there are several internationally recognised units of measurement that apparently only exist when booking a holiday…

✈️ Flight time: “Nothing too early.”
How early is too early?! 4am? 6am? Before Lorraine finishes on ITV? 😅

🚌 Transfer time: “Not too far.”
Excellent. Are we talking 20 minutes or I’ll tolerate 90 minutes if there’s air con and snacks?

🏨 Hotel: “Just the usual.”
Ah yes. The universally recognised Standard Holiday Hotel™. 😂

📍 Location: “Near everything.”
The beach? Bars? Restaurants? Old Town? Attractions? Waterparks?!

💰 Budget: “Nothing ridiculous.”
Perfect. Let me consult the International Ridiculousness Index™.

🌴 Holiday style: “Just somewhere nice.”
Fabulous. That’s narrowed planet Earth down beautifully 😅

And my personal favourite…

💸 Budget: “We’re flexible for the right thing.”

Finds the right thing.

“OH NO. We wouldn’t pay THAT.” 😂😂

This is exactly why I now use a Travel Discovery Questionnaire before I start researching your trip. Sadly I am not blessed with a 25 hour day or the ability to read minds.

There’s absolutely no need to answer every question. I include plenty of detail because it gets you thinking about all those little things you might not initially consider — but that can make a HUGE difference to your holiday.

Is air conditioning essential?
How long would you actually sit on a transfer?
Would you sacrifice the perfect hotel for better flight times?
Do you want to be on the beach or is a 15-minute walk fine?

Because “not too far”, “not too early”, “the usual” and “somewhere nice” mean something completely different to every traveller.

The better I understand your version of the perfect holiday, the better I can design it.
