✨ Happy to share that Abbey Logistics Group has been shortlisted for the Innovation Award at this year’s Motor Transport Awards.

In collaboration with British Sugar, we developed a first-of-its-kind vehicle solution designed to reduce emissions, increase payload capacity, and support a more sustainable future for transport. It’s great to see this project recognised alongside some of the best innovations in the UK transport and logistics industry.
A big thank you to the British Sugar team for their partnership and support throughout the project.

More than just a first step! 🏅

Logistics isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind when people think about apprenticeships or long-term careers. But at Abbey, we’ve seen so many success stories of people who started as apprentices and have grown into directors, senior managers, and leaders across the business, running fleet, operations, and finance.

That’s why every year we love bringing everyone together to recognise the hard work, dedication, and progress our apprentices are making. Supporting people to learn, grow, and build proper careers is something we value and invest in, and it’s brilliant to see the impact they’re having.

From accountancy and HR support to HGV technicians, customer service, and vehicle maintenance & repair, our apprentices are developing relevant skills and knowledge for future growth that align with their career interests.
Well done to everyone involved, and congratulations to all our apprentices for your dedication and achievements this year 👏. Also, thanks to their line managers and supporting teams.

Behind every smooth-running operation is a group of people you rarely see, but who make all the difference.🔧

Our workshop team have been absolutely smashing it lately, keeping our tanks at peak performance. You don’t often see the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, but they’re the reason our equipment stays reliable day in, day out.
On this particular job, they were working on a suspended powder tank, a serious piece of kit weighing several tonnes. Work like this takes real skill, experience, and attention to detail, with every part of the process carefully managed from start to finish.

A lot of skill and hard work goes into jobs like this, and we’re proud to have that expertise in our workshop.👏

We are looking for a driven and knowledgeable individual with a strong background in transport operations who can lead, motivate, and develop a team while ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on approach, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is keen to push the operation forward.

As Transport Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the depot, supporting operational performance, managing resources effectively, and working closely with wider teams to deliver excellent results.
