AVGeek Cameras! 📸 ✈️

I get asked all the time for recommendations for people who want to start or who want to buy their kid a camera to film aircraft.

I personally use my phone and a Panasonic VX1 camcorder for my videos, so I thought I’d ask the AVGeek community for their camera knowledge 😄✈️

If someone was just starting out in aviation photography, what would you recommend?

Sony? Canon? Nikon?

Mirrorless, DSLR, Bridge?

The choices are endless, and for someone new to the hobby it can be overwhelming.

What’s easy to use but still gets great shots of aircraft?

What would you recommend for a starting budget?

And just for fun, if money was no object, what’s your dream camera/lens set up?

Hopefully this post helps someone looking to buy their first camera for themselves… or a future little AVGeek 🌎📸
