If you are travelling to the airport, please try to arrange a lift and use the free drop off zone or take the No 4 bus which runs to the airport every 30 mins - thanks for your cooperation

A long-running community initiative at Kirkwall Airport has now raised more than £6,500 for local charities since 2014.

Thanks to the support of passengers, staff and the local community, the airport’s honesty-box book sale scheme continues to make a real difference. Books donated to the departure lounge are sold for 50p each, with all proceeds supporting charitable causes.

This year, £1,600 has been donated to charities close to the hearts of our community and colleagues:

• Macmillan Cancer Support – £1,000
• Crossroads Caring Scotland – £300
• Parkinson's UK – £300

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated books and supported the scheme over the years.
