Whale Watching in Hauganes, Iceland โ An Unforgettable Experience! ๐ฎ๐ธ
The highlight of my trip to Iceland so far was heading out from the beautiful fishing village of Hauganes on a whale-watching adventure in Eyjafjรถrรฐur, one of the best places in the country to spot whales.
๐ณ We were lucky enough to see two humpback whales feeding in the fjord.
Interesting fact: Humpback whales are known for their complex songs, which can last up to 30 minutes and be heard many miles away beneath the ocean's surface. ๐ถ
๐We also spotted some lively minke whales, the smallest of the baleen whales commonly found around Iceland.
Interesting fact: Minke whales can swim at speeds of over 20 mph, making them one of the quickest whale species in the world. ๐
Watching these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and the stunning scenery of North Iceland, was a truly magical experience.
If Iceland is on your bucket list, I can highly recommend adding whale watching to your itinerary. It's one of those wildlife encounters you'll never forget. The best time of year with the best chance of sightings is between June and July
Have you ever been whale watching? Let me know where in the comments!
