The biggest reward of my work as a travel consultant is hearing from clients who’ve experienced just how much of a difference proper, personalised support can make. I recently received a great review that really highlighted the benefits of using a travel consultant.

This client had originally booked their holiday online at the start of the year, only for it to be cancelled just weeks before they were due to travel. With no real person to speak to, unhelpful chatbots, and an automated phone system that went nowhere, they were left frustrated and on their own trying to sort a refund. To make matters worse, when they went to rebook the same holiday, the price had shot up quite a bit.

That’s when they got in touch with me.

Instead of just finding any alternative, I took the time to understand what was really important to them. They needed a trip within their original budget, flying from a local airport, a hotel with great dining, a well-equipped gym, sports facilities for the kids, and direct beach access. Using my knowledge and access to a wide range of travel providers, I found a similar property in the same destination that ticked all the boxes while staying within budget.

But the support didn’t stop there. I kept an eye on their flights, confirmed preferences directly with the hotel before they arrived, and again on check-in. The hotel’s Customer Relations team even contacted my client during their stay. I also followed up after they got home to make sure everything had gone smoothly.
