About the Role
Join our team operating the Hop-On Hop-Off Town Tour! As a Land Train Guard, you will be the heart of our service—ensuring passengers have a safe, smooth, and entertaining journey as they explore the town.

This role starts as part-time with flexible hours, making it ideal for someone looking for adaptable shifts, with a genuine opportunity for full-time employment for the right candidate as our operations grow.

Key Responsibilities
* Live Route Commentary: Deliver clear, friendly commentary over the PA system during the tour, ensuring local place names, landmarks, and historical figures are pronounced accurately.
* Passenger Assistance & Support: Actively assist passengers boarding and disembarking, including aiding passengers with mobility issues, elderly guests, and families with buggies or wheelchairs.
* Customer Service & Ticketing: Greet passengers, issue tickets, check tickets, and process cash or contactless payments using a handheld terminal.
* Passenger Safety: Maintain onboard safety at all times, conduct safety checks before each trip, and ensure guidelines are followed while the train is in motion.
* Cleanliness: Keep carriage passenger areas clean, tidy, and presentable throughout the day.

What We Are Looking For
* Strong Communication: Excellent spoken English with a clear, confident voice over a PA system. Welsh language skills are a strong advantage, but not essential—what matters most is a commitment to pronouncing local names and places correctly!
* Physical Capability: Ability to handle a physically active role that involves lifting, bending, and assisting passengers with mobility needs.
* Age Requirement: Must be 18 or older (required for insurance purposes).
* Customer-Focused & Reliable: Approachable, patient, punctual, and passionate about creating a great experience for tourists and locals.
* Adaptable: Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Working Hours & Pay
* Pay: £13.00 per hour
* Hours: Flexible part-time shifts (including weekends and peak holiday periods), with potential to move to a full-time contract.
* Immediate start after training period

We are looking for the right person to join our team as a PCV Land Train Driver.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful locations in North Wales, meeting people from all over the world and helping create memories they will remember for years.

We are looking for someone who has:

✅ A PCV licence With Category D entitlement
✅ At least 1 year’s PCV driving experience
✅ Over 25 years old (an insurance requirement)
✅ A friendly, professional attitude and enjoys meeting people

💷 Pay: £16 per hour
🕒 Flexible hours to suit you — from 6–8 hour shifts up to 40 hours per week

Heading out for a ride? We’re always here to lend a hand! 🚂✨

​(Please note: Our wheelchair ramp is currently out of service while we wait for a rare part for our 28-year-old heritage train. For the time being, we can temporarily only accommodate ambulant passengers).

​We believe that every passenger deserves an experience with dignity and a helping hand. That's why when you travel with us, you'll always find a step stool laid out and a guard's arm available to make getting on and off our beautiful Land Train just a little bit easier.

​We are also more than happy to safely store mobility aids, folded wheelchairs, or walkers in our back carriage while you enjoy the trip.
