When I recently heard this song, it struck to me that I have heard it before and it sounds like dil mera from Bollywood. On further research I found this:

The popular Hindi song “Dil Mera Churaya Kyun” from the movie Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995) is a well-known “copy” or heavily inspired track from the famous English Christmas song “Last Christmas” by the duo Wham! (George Michael & Andrew Ridgeley), released in 1984, with both songs featuring similar synth melodies and heartbroken themes.
