Heading to Propak Cape 2026? Make time to visit Polyoak Packaging and take a closer look at a different approach to w**e packaging. 🍷

From 27th to 29th October, more than 200 exhibitors will gather at the Cape Town International Convention Centre to showcase developments across packaging, plastics, printing, labelling and food processing.

Among the innovations on display will be our 750ml Eco Flat W**e Bottle, developed for the South African w**e market by Polyoak Packaging in partnership with Safripol Safripol and Stellenbosch Vineyards.

Its lightweight, space efficient format shows how rethinking the shape of a w**e bottle can help improve transportation and supply chain efficiency.

Howard Dawber OBE’s words capture why events like the London & Partners Annual Green Innovation Networking Reception matter.

Thank you to Pru Ashby for inviting Santiago to this year’s reception on 8th October at NLA - The London Centre, joining founders, investors, researchers and policymakers from across the climate innovation community.

Pru also shared an ambition for London to become the green capital of the world by 2030. Achieving that takes collaboration between the people developing new ideas, the businesses adopting them and the investors and policymakers helping them scale.

At Packamama, we see that same need for partnership in w**e packaging. For us, the opportunity is to turn shared ambition into everyday packaging decisions across the w**e industry.

It was great to attend the WSTA Environmental Day 2026 last week at Campari House in London.

The event brought together people from across the w**e and spirits industry to discuss some of the key environmental and packaging developments shaping the sector, including Deposit Return Schemes (DRS), Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), recyclability and the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

With significant changes coming over the next 18 months, particularly around UK packaging policy and regional differences, it was a valuable opportunity to hear the latest updates and discuss what these changes could mean for businesses across the industry.

It was also great to catch up with sustainability experts like Simon Mason from The W**e Society

Thank you to Freddie Joosten and the WSTA for organising a very useful event, and to Campari for the hospitality at Campari House.

Great to see so many people from across the industry engaging with these important topics.

A changing climate creates challenges for every part of the w**e industry. 🍷🌍

In this short clip from Channel 5’s Fix or Fail, Packamama founder Santiago Navarro speaks with Ryan Howsam about how w**e is closely connected to geography and the climate, and why changing temperatures matter.

It’s a useful reminder that sustainability in w**e goes far beyond packaging. From the vineyard and the regions where grapes can be grown, through to how w**e is packaged and transported, the industry needs to think differently about its environmental impact.

What if recycling didn’t just keep valuable material in circulation, but helped prevent it from reaching our oceans in the first place? 🌊♻️

This , promoted by WRAP, we’re celebrating what can happen when plastic is collected, recycled and given another useful life.

Some Packamama Eco Flat w**e bottles are made using Prevented Ocean Plastic™ - recycled PET collected from coastal communities in areas where discarded plastic is at high risk of entering the ocean.

Instead of becoming pollution, that material is collected and recycled into high-quality rPET that can be used again, including to make w**e bottles.

For us, it demonstrates an important principle of circularity:

Plastic isn’t simply waste. It’s a valuable material when we collect it, recycle it and keep it in circulation.

That’s why good recycling infrastructure, responsible material choices and designing packaging for what happens next all matter.
