The ruins of Talley Abbey monastery in Carmarthenshire, Wales
The monastery was founded by the Premonstratensians ("White Canons"). The abbey dates back to the 12th century and features some examples of architecture, such as Gothic arches and cornerstone. The church bell tower is the most impressive element of the ruins.
It was the final resting place of Rhys Fychan, grandson of Lord Rhys, who was buried there in 1271.
It is located in the village of Talley, in the valley of the Cothi River. It is 6 miles north of Llandeilo and 7 miles west of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Admission to the site is free.
