Another year has passed and it's a good time to curl up on the sofa and nap until the new year. Inspired by that notion I have made a Christmas print reminding me to slow down and have a rest!

I am so pleased to hear that the EU has banned bee-harming pesticides today to protect both wild and honeybees.
🐝 This ban was long overdue as billions of bees are dying across the world. Bees are absolutely vital for our food production as they pollinate 3/4 of our crops.
I am posting illustrations I made for Kew Gardens a while back to go alongside the Hive project to highlight the importance of bees as pollinators.

This wonderful event is happening this weekend! National Orchestras for All is making music accessible for everyone. I performed with this awesome youth orchestra last year and will be joining them again this weekend. We'll be sharing a new commissioned piece with Quest Ensemble as well as the Firebird by Stravinsky. Art really does bring people together and this has never been so clear to me as when I witnessed children of all ages and backgrounds come together to play.

Sarathy travelled around India and recorded sounds of the Sidi community which he used as the foundation of his beautifully textured album.

Margaret Mee was a botanical artist who loved the Brazilian rainforest. Mee was particularly interested in the Moonflower - a plant that only blooms for a few hours and only for one night to be pollinated. This illustration was inspired by an account of her finding the moonflower by torch light on her last trip to the Amazon.
