Beautiful pics from one of my new favourite resorts, the fabulous Zel Punta Cana

Zel is a collaboration between the always brilliant Melia Hotels and Spanish tennis legend Rafa Nadal, and this is their first resort outside of the Mediterranean. The brand is modelled after the relaxed, outdoor culture and active lifestyle typical of the Mediterranean, and focuses on active well being, open air living, and tasty local food.

This was a multi generational trip for 10 adults and kids and worked perfectly for everyone, with plenty of activities on offer including access to a huge waterpark and kids club at the sister hotel next door. The food was also a highlight with fresh, authentic food served up at a range of included Ć  la carte restaurants.

The attention to detail on the menus here is second to none. A mix of fresh local produce and internationally sourced specialities such as oysters from France and Galician steak from Spain. And itā€™s all whipped up into a range of unbelievably tasty dishes by a dedicated team of experienced chefs with the incredibly talented and experienced Mark Jones at the helm.

Itā€™s a good job I wasnā€™t staying here too long because Iā€™m not sure Iā€™d have fit in any of my clothes!

A very last minute summer holiday to the beautiful MarBella Corfu (thatā€™s right, there is still some time to get away if you move VERY fast!)

Zel Punta Cana has made me rethink everything I thought I knew about the Dominican Republic.

If Iā€™m honest Iā€™ve always been a bit reluctant to book the Dominican Republic, Iā€™ve never been myself and the hotel reviews are always so mixed, Iā€™ve never been able to find anywhere that I felt really confident recommending to my clients. There are a couple of really standout properties but they often have a price tag to match so not always that accessible, however all that has changed with the arrival of Zel Punta Cana.

Zel by Melia is a joint venture with Rafael Nadal, itā€™s a new concept with a Mediterranean aesthetic built around outdoor living, enriching experiences, activity and social life, and gastronomy that brings authentic flavours to life in a fancy but not formal setting.

I have clients here right now and the feedback has been fantastic, so it is now on my own list for next year, and if youā€™re thinking about booking an all-inclusive in the Caribbean it should be on yours too!

Iā€™ve been working on an amazing Vietnam itinerary for a family over Christmas and New Year and Iā€™m more convinced than ever that I HAVE to get myself there next year!

There are so many amazing places to stay, things to see and do, experiences to be had, memories to be made - itā€™s just such a special country with so much to offer, and itā€™s still incredibly good value. If youā€™re looking for your next long haul adventure Vietnam could be it.
