Tucked away in the heart of Somerset’s historic village of Mells, offers the perfect blend of heritage, comfort, and warm English hospitality.
🛏️ Our Stay
We came here for a family wedding and so it does feel extra special to me but I wouldn’t hesitate to come again as it has everything you need for a stay in the countryside.
We stayed in Room 7, an extra-large double with a free standing bath. It made for the perfect family room due to the size, complete with its own charming staircase entrance (though not pram-friendly). The room was beautifully presented with thoughtful touches, including a handwritten welcome note and bath & shower products that made it feel extra special. Honestly, it was one of the best nights’ sleep I’ve had in a long time.
🍽️ Dining & Drinks
Dinner was a highlight, we enjoyed private dining in one of the cosy spaces, surrounded by soft sofas and comfy chairs that invited us to linger long after dessert. The menu championed local produce and was beautifully balanced between hearty and refined and the wine list ticked all the boxes.
🌞 Breakfast
Morning brought an amazing breakfast spread with fresh fruits, homemade conserves, cereals, and perfectly cooked hot dishes made to order. The cherry on top? A Bloody Mary (or Red Snapper) station, the ideal cure after the night before…
