Stunning scenery from Leicester on the River Soar and then onto the River Trent and Trent and Mersey canal to Shardlow - never beeen as hot ever apart from in Death Valley 🥵
Went back home for a week to cool off 🤣 while Teasel was in the boatyard getting some repairs !
Back to hot weather but thankfully 😅 not quite as hot as when we left ! Better prepared with a dog cooling coat for Ted which is brilliant 🤩 and some parasols for us 🤣On the River Trent heading to Nottingham xx

Now on the Grand Union canal! Braunston to Market Harborough ( it's taken us nearly 3 weeks to do 30 miles 🤣Such a peaceful and rural canal!
Down the Foxton staircase locks today - thankfully manned by lock keepers 🤪

After nearly 3 months of closure the locks from Aynho to Claydon (on the south Oxford canal )opened on Monday for a week. We have had a great time at Aynho and met some lovely boaters , but have now moved on and aiming to get to a winter mooring near Rugby before the locks close again 🤪
The reservoirs are still almost empty ( see last photo) and water is being pumped to Napton so that the canal can stay open this week .
Lovely to cruise again 😄

After a lovely week in Inverness and a few days at home we're back on the Oxford Canal ! Cruising is now very limited due to lock closures and it's looking unlikely to change for the next few weeks/months 🫣
We can't get any further north so making the most of the gorgeous South Oxford canal, which is fed by the River Cherwell so has escaped the closures ( for now 🤪)

Reading down to Kingston passing through Henley , Windsor and Hampton Court . As far down the Thames as we could go because the lock onto the grand union canal was broken - not brave enough to do on the tidal Thames further down 🥹
Turned and now heading back towards Oxford. Staying on the Thames for a few more days before heading back into the Oxford canal - we can't get very far on the canal though due to lock closures 🤪

Onto the Thames at Oxford -Oxford to Letchlade - then turned and now heading towards London ! Now moored outside Reading - boat tied to a tree 🌲 🥹
Loving every minute of this trip 🥰 well apart from a couple of near misses 🤣trying to moor on a river in the wind isn't always easy🤪

Banbury to Oxford after a trip to stratford upon Avon( to leave the car for the next month)
The boat on the towpath was marooned after flooding subsided and they can't get a crane to get it back into the water !
Heading onto the Thames today 😅 Going upstream towards Lechlade ( quite and scenic ) before turning and heading to London - well that's the plan anyway🤣

From Hillmorton to Banbury ! Having the best time with amazing weather and gorgeous scenery! We have leapfrogged the car untill now (lots of lovely walking 🚶) but leaving it with David's brother in Stratford on Avon before we head to Oxford , the Thames and London 😅

7 weeks into our journey from Audlem to London and the weather has been amazing 🤩 We have been to so many lovely places that we would never have seen without our boat !
Spent last weekend in manchester ( by car) and this weekend at Crick boatshow and heading back home for a couple of weeks tomorrow before heading towards Oxford and the thames ! looking forward to tackling the garden and weeds at home 😙

Visited a garden centre and herbs and flowers now growing on the boat 🙂 Got chased by a goose at a nature reserve- didn't think David could run that fast 😂😂Now on the coventry canal! Moored near Lichfield for a couple of nights and what a lovely city ! Now moored at Tamworth preparing for trip down the 14 Atherstone lock flight tomorrow 😅
