✨EISTEDDFOD Y GARREG LAS✨

On the 24th Of July, we had the joy of sponsoring the local event with BWNCATH singing in BONCATH our local village.

It was a great night with many talented singers, enjoying with a few ciders.

Raising money to go towards the Eisteddfod which this year was located in Llantood!

THE PRESELI BABAS! 🐑

Second year of sponsoring this fantastic local rugby team - Llew definately liked the look of the Jersey.

Here is their most recent update;

"We are incredibly proud to announce that Preseli Babas have been crowned the 2026 LIT Super Series Champions, becoming the first Welsh team ever to win the British Super Series.
The LIT Super Series is the biggest rugby sevens series in Europe, bringing together many of the continent's top teams across four highly competitive tournaments. Our journey throughout the series showed the consistency and resilience of this squad:
• Leg 1: Semi-Finalists
• Leg 2: Champions
• Leg 3: Semi-Finalists
• Leg 4: Runners-Up
That consistency secured us the overall Series title and a place in the history books."

The big machine you see in the back is one of our latest investments.
Our Toughening Plant!

This is the machine that cooks the glass to turn it into a safety glass!
Toughened glass is safety‑treated glass that’s heated and rapidly cooled to make it 4–5× stronger than standard glass.
It’s widely used in doors, balustrades, shower screens, shopfronts, and anywhere stronger, safer glazing is required.

Mazzaroppi name each toughening plant that gets installed - our toughening plant is named are one of the directors 'Noela'

This morning we had our monthly Cullet Collection!

For those of you that don't know, here at Derw Glass, Any scrap glass or offcuts gets sent back to our supplier .
This allows the glass to be recovered & re-manufactured into new high performance glass sheets.

In 2026 here at Derw Glass through our glass forever program we;

Returned 433 Tonnes of Cullet to be recycled
520 Tonnes of virgin raw materials saved
303 Tonnes of c02 Saved

Saint-Gobain has been our trusted supplier for many years & we can't praise them enough for their knowledge and quality products.

The Face Behind The Name!

Julian Palmer started Derw glass back in 1991 with the help and support of Noela his wife (the main boss), Angharad then joined Derw in 2016.
Over the years Derw has invested in multiple new machines, continuing to go with the times and the products that continue to launch year by year.

What started as a small shed manufactering double glazed unit's, has now transformed with hard work and dedication. To becoming a company that now supplies double glazing, Mirrors, Processed work & Laminated glass.

Lets see what the next 10 years brings.

Derw Glass is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year with a major milestone of another kind, one year of automated insulated glass production powered by Edgetech’s Super Spacer®.

Today, under the stewardship of Julian’s wife Noela Palmer and their daughter, director Angharad Palmer, the business continues to evolve, most recently through its transition from rigid spacer bars to Edgetech’s flexible Super Spacer® as part of a new automated IGU line.
