Monday is well underway and so are we! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Hereโ€™s one of the GCT fleet at Perth Bus Station, ready to turn around and head back out on the road once again. ๐Ÿค

For many of our passengers, Perth is an important part of their journey - whether thatโ€™s heading into the city for work, connecting with another service, getting to an appointment, doing a bit of shopping or simply getting from A to B. ๐Ÿ“Œ

Our buses have been busy getting people where they need to be throughout the day, with plenty more journeys still to come before Monday is done. ๐Ÿ’š

Getting on and off the bus should be as straightforward as possible and thatโ€™s why the low-floor, wide-access design of our buses is so important. ๐Ÿ’š

With a low entrance and plenty of space at the doorway, our vehicles are designed to make boarding easier and more comfortable for passengers, including those travelling with mobility aids, wheelchairs, walking frames or pushchairs. ๐Ÿซก

Itโ€™s a feature you might not think about every time you travel, but for some of our passengers, it can make a huge difference. ๐Ÿค

Tomorrow morning, our team will be back out across our communities, ready for another week of early starts, familiar faces and thousands of journeys. ๐Ÿค

Whether Monday means heading to work, getting into town, making an appointment or simply getting from A to B, weโ€™ll be ready to play our part in getting you there. ๐ŸšŒ

From Monday 31st August, work will begin on a major upgrade to Kinross Park & Ride, with improvements expected to take around four weeks to complete. ๐Ÿคฉ

The work will include:

๐ŸšŒ Increased shelter capacity and additional waiting space

๐Ÿšฒ New bike racks

๐Ÿšถ Improved crossings between the north and south stops

๐Ÿ• Real Time Information on both sides of the Park & Ride

This is fantastic news for everyone who uses Kinross as part of their journey and another step towards making the Park & Ride an even better-connected transport hub. ๐ŸšŒ

โš ๏ธ While the work is taking place, there may be some impact on our services through Kinross. Weโ€™ll keep passengers updated if any changes or disruption affect GCT journeys.

And thereโ€™s another reason weโ€™re particularly excited about these improvementsโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€

Weโ€™re currently developing plans for Kinross Connect - a new GCT service designed to connect surrounding communities with mainline bus services through Kinross. ๐Ÿ’š

We hope to pilot Kinross Connect later this year, with a view to introducing the service next year if the necessary funding can be secured. ๐Ÿ”œ

That means GCT serves Kinross Park & Ride twice every hour, giving the communities along our routes a simple and convenient way to connect with the wider public transport network. ๐Ÿซก
