What if the stamping station is closed? Or I cannot stop and get the physical stamp? 🤔

We have provided unique QR codes so you can get a virtual stamp! So we know you've been.

Please note not all Thames Path Passport stamping stations have these QR codes displayed on their windows or doors. Don't worry if there is none, just write the date on the page when you've been. The list of stamping stations with QR codes can be found on our website.

This walker had shown how he deserved to have the certificate of completion. And with much effort and diligence, we want to applaud him. His stamped passport is the best we have received.

How is yours looking? 🤔

Come and join us on the Thames Path Relay in June to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Thames Path National Trail.

Information about the 24-day walking relay between Friday 5th and Sunday 28th June here https://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/.../thames-path-30th.../

Each section will be led by experienced walk leaders from local communities. We are immensely grateful to them all including: Pipsticks Walks, Walk Works, Thames Strategy: Kew-Chelsea, Thames Landscape Strategy, Des Garrahan, Walk the Thames, Windsor River Watch, South Bank Ramblers, Sustainable Wantage,
Thame & Wheatley Ramblers, Wild Swim, MUFC Walks, Waterway Pickers Staines, South Bank Ramblers, Capital Walkers, West London Ramblers, and Thames Path volunteers.

The final day's walk on Sunday 28th June will be led by West London Ramblers, which shares a deep connection with David Sharp, widely regarded as the founding father of the Thames Path National Trail.
As part of the West London Group and later Richmond Ramblers, he was instrumental in transforming an ambitious vision into one of the country’s most treasured long-distance routes. David represented The Ramblers at the official opening of the Thames Path on 24 July 1996 at the Thames Barrier, which was the eastern end of the trail. For many years this marked the start or finish of the route until its extension in January 2022 to the Woolwich Foot Tunnel, where it now connects with the King Charles III England Coast Path.

The Thames Path Relay is a collaboration with Drinkable Rivers and Mayors for a Drinkable Thames. They will organise some events to engage local people with water quality issues.

Start your Thames Path walk at Cirencester

If you need an extra day to recover from a long journey before starting your Thames Path walk you might consider staying in Cirencester.

There’s lots to see in this Roman town: a magnificent church, Abbey ruins, a museum. There’s even a Roman Amphitheatre. And plenty of shops and restaurants.

Anyone on a package with us gets a free ride (just 6 miles) to the start and we’ll point you in the right direction. Time permitting we might even walk up to the Source with you.

No red sky to be seen

and the flock looks indifferent.

Here's another iconic saying I just learned.

Red sky at night, shepherd's delight.
Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning.

This rhyme is not just an old wives' tale. There is a meteorological explanation behind it. That is, weather typically travels from west to east.

Red sky at night: When the setting sun shines through high, dry and stable air, it means fair weather is on its way.

Red sky in the morning: The sun in the east reflects off dust and moisture signalling unsettled, wet weather and low pressure coming from the west.

First time for me to hear this saying.

So I was on the look out for cows during my walk. The clouds were threatening.

And we did get rain today!

But do they all have to be lying down for it to rain?

Yes! This is the team behind the scene.

Not only the boys but also the girls make the work lighter for our customers.

This morning, Lara and Elsa, did a "meet and greet" for 4 ladies walking upstream from Pangbourne to North Stoke. Beware: They have special powers. 😆💕

It's now Friday but, the walk goes on. Get it?

It’s getting busy out there!

This week we are scheduled to move around 250 bags. The Paths are in great condition. The weather is mostly dry and cool - excellent walking conditions.
