Farrell’s modernisation continues with the arrival of our very first Mobile Vehicle Loader (MVL).

As our warehouse operations continue to grow, we’ve invested in a fully extendable conveyor system designed to support our hardworking warehouse team and further improve the efficiency of our container handling processes.

The new system includes:

✅ A fully motorised, manoeuvrable high-to-low platform frame
✅ 10 metres of telescopic, height-adjustable, LED-lit conveyor belt
✅ Reach capability for full 40ft containers
✅ A 90-degree turn plate
✅ 6 metres of 600mm-wide gravity rollers

This new addition is already making a huge difference to the way we operate and marks another important step in Farrell’s ongoing investment in modernisation and operational excellence.

🔧 We’re Hiring: Experienced HGV Mechanic

We are currently looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong experience in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles, with a focus on safety, compliance, and keeping vehicles safe, compliant, and roadworthy.

Key responsibilities include:

✅ Carrying out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
✅ Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical and electrical repairs
✅ Conducting safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT testing
✅ Completing defect reports and maintenance documentation
✅ Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company procedures and health & safety standards
✅ Assisting with general workshop duties when required

What we’re looking for:

✅ Previous experience as an HGV or commercial vehicle mechanic
✅ Good knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair procedures
✅ A valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✅ Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Work Location: In person

From a single vehicle and a small unit in Bingham back in 1986, we've grown into the region's premier haulier — and we're just getting started.
