End of the season problems for Adrian's lovely regal Ventura 5.0 v8 Volvo Penta .
I went and looked at the boat while it was in the water to see if it was going to be a handy fix.
Turns out, on a quick inspection the engine was locked up and had a broken valve spring so decided to get it towed to the slipway and put on the trailer and taken to the workshop. Took all 8 plugs out to do a and found 2 cylinders filled with water. Cleared the water out of the cylinders and put 8 new sparkplugs in and tried to start. NO GO! After a further inspection, the kill switch was at fault which failed on the water causing the boat to stop almost instantly in the water which caused a rush of water to the exhaust and into the cylinders. Compression test was done, and everything all good and back with the customer
