There r two types, naming Positive n Negative.
POSITIVE
Dey r altars raised to d living God for good purpose. Our prayer altars r positive altars n wen someone says his prayer altar is weak it means his prayer life is nothing to write abt. Also wen someone's holiness altar is weak, it means although d person is holy he cannot withstand much of d works of d enemy. Jesus who died on d cross, his cross is an altar where d son of God was sacrificed.
NEGATIVE
R altars raised by d enemy to steal, to kill n destroy. Altars can b raised to bless or to destroy, to improve or to demote, to promote or to put down. U can raise an altar to enhance or to frustrate. U can raise an altar for particular person or for set of pple dose u like or dose u don't like.
In d O.T altars r built to destroy n to frustrate d enemies. Wen u read 1 Samuel 7:7-11, Samuel raised up an altar in d name of d lord against d Philistines. God became angry with d Philistines n thundered against dem frm heaven. D altar fought d battle for lsrael n it was practically a walk-over. Israel did not fight n God looked down n fought for his pple against dier enemies.
