Our journey continued from Kumasi to the sacred grounds of Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Park.

This is the place where many of our ancestors took their last bath on African soil before being forced onto ships during the transatlantic slave trade. Standing there, the atmosphere was heavy with history and emotion.

Together, we walked barefoot to the ancestral river, taking a moment to reflect, connect, and honor the strength and resilience of those who came before us. It was a powerful reminder that despite unimaginable suffering, their spirit endured — and because of them, generations after them continue to rise.

From there, we headed to the historic Cape Coast Castle, where we walked through the slave dungeons and learned more about the painful chapter of history that unfolded there. It was an emotional but deeply meaningful experience — one of remembrance, reflection, and reconnection.

Moments like these remind us that visiting Ghana is more than a trip…
It is a journey of history, healing, and connection to the Motherland 🇬🇭
