Exactly 20 years ago today, 29th March 2006… we witnessed something we may not see again in our lifetime — the Solar Eclipse of March 29, 2006 right here in Ghana.
I still remember it like yesterday. Between 8:30am and 9:30am, everywhere just changed. The sky went dim, birds went quiet, and for some minutes, it felt like day had turned into night.
They sold those special glasses… some of us bought them.
Some people fetched water in a basin and watched inside.
And some of us… hmm… we used our bare eyes 😅
It wasn’t just science oo… the whole country paused. Everybody was outside looking up, talking, shouting, calling others to come and see.
Now it’s 20 years already… eeii time no dey wait for anybody.
