Visited OOCL SPAIN today at Modern Terminals in Hong Kong. Maiden voyage. Impressively ginormous container vessel with carrying capacity of 24,188 x 20’ containers. It was the largest container ship afloat for a brief period only to be eclipsed by the recently launched MSC IRINA at 24,346 x 20’ containers!!

This probably has a lot to do with the imposition of Trump Tariffs on Imports from China. We have seen a huge rush to move cargo ex China on TransPac which effectively needs to land in USA before end August.
