Located at the end of Andrassy Avenue, Heroes Square (Hősök tere) is the most important and the biggest in and in . Back in the 7th century, Prince Arpad and his chieftains conquered the Carpathian Basin. The ensemble at was inaugurated in 1896 to commemorate the Millenium Celebration of the existence of the Hungarian nation.

The history of Heroes Square is extremely diverse and, as a social space, is an indicator of national consciousness and the desired direction of the nation.

A number of works of various sizes and functions from the whole, which, viewed as a unit, can be interpreted as a World Heritage Site together with Andrassy Avenue (since 2002) and the City Park.

One of the elements which may be aesthetically insignificant for many folks is the Stone, whose turbulent history contains many narratives and countless aspects of events. The Memorial Stone of Heroes has been an ornamented stone since the reconstruction in 2001 and it is located in the middle of the square in front of the statue of Árpád.

The colonades showcase statues of ones of the most important Hungarian rulers and heads of state - János Hunyadi, King Matthias, István Bocskai, Gábor Bethlen, Imre Thököly II., Ferenc Rákóczi and Lajos Kossuth - on the right colonade. On the left: Szent István, Szent László, Kálmán Könyves, II. Andrew, IV. Statue of Béla, Róbert Károly and Lajos Nagy.

Heroes Square (Hősök tere) also represents one of the top attractions for visitors in Budapest.
