Add this hidden gem to your County Galway bucket list 📍👇
If you’re exploring the Wild Atlantic Way or driving the famous Sky Road, you have to stop at Clifden Castle. Built in 1812 by John D'Arcy, this Gothic Revival manor house is now a stunning, roofless ruin completely open to the elements.
The walk down from the main road takes about 10–15 minutes, passing by mock standing stones before opening up to incredible views of the castle ruins against Clifden Bay. It’s completely free to visit, though parking nearby is tight!
