Today marks the first anniversary of Dad's passing. As we look back over what has been an incredibly difficult year, we also have so much to be proud of.
Dad was the inspiration behind MFJ Travel & Transfers.
From when he won his first car, a mini, at the age of 16, there was plenty lifts given to friends, family and neighbours throughout the years. Over the years that passion for travelling grew into a lifetime of exploring the highways and byways of this beautiful country. In his final years, he held his own limousine licence — bringing together his love of driving, talking to people and Ireland.
He was immensely proud of his country and loved nothing more than showcasing it to others. From the well-known tourist attractions to the hidden gems tucked away off the beaten track, he had a wealth of knowledge and stories to share.
These last few months in the same type of business have been very positive, despite coming through so much loss and heartache within our family. We honestly couldn't have done it without the knowledge Dad passed down to us, or the love of travelling that he instilled in us.
From searching for non-existent fairy trees 😂, to plenty of laughs, a few tears, and countless miles on the road, we have loved following in his footsteps.
Every journey, every hidden gem and every corner of Ireland we discover feels like Dad is there with us.
One year on, we remember him with enormous love and pride — and we're so grateful to be continuing something that meant so much to him.
