Exciting times ahead as IPM, now proudly part of the Royal HZPC Group, re-enters the Algerian market 🥔
We’re delighted to be bringing established varieties such as Burren, Banba, Tornado, Electra & Java back to Algerian growers, alongside a selection of newer varieties designed to meet the evolving needs of the market.

In Holland we plant on the flat, initially covering the seed with only a thin layer of soil. This allows the seed to warm up quickly and encourages faster emergence. The result is earlier crop development and subsequently, an earlier harvest.

After 2–3 weeks, just before emergence, the crop is ridged into the final full 75 cm beds. This helps protect the developing tubers and provides the ideal bed structure for the remainder of the growing season.

These bags are slightly smaller than we’re used to!

Each bag contains 3 tubers, with 45 varieties in total: new varieties, development varieties and established control varieties.
The tubers are planted in a randomised trial on a high-pressure site, ensuring we get the most accurate results. We will harvest and gather results from this trial in October.

Our team has been busy in Holland planting mini-tubers—marking the start of the multiplication process.
These mini-tubers are produced from microplants grown in a controlled environment, ensuring optimal health and virus-free seed potatoes. 🌱🥔

Marcel de Sousa is with David Sanchez from our distributor Pepsur, visiting Belami crops in Cartagena.
Delighted to see that as we approach harvest time Belami is showing the right size profile for pre-packing and exports with very nice skin finish and good yields 🥔

Our team have had a busy day as we welcomed Hans Huistra and Thomas De Bruijn from Royal HZPC Group to Scotland. It was a very productive day which included visits to AJ Allan in Brechin and the IPM Office in Letham. It was a pleasure to host the first of what we trust will be many equally positive visits to our Scottish operations

🗓️ Save the date!

Building on the success of last year’s event, we’re delighted to be taking part in the Caythorpe Open Days on 26–27 August. 🥔

The Caythorpe site plays a vital role for IPM as our main UK location for evaluating breeder material, assessing new commercial varieties, and improving husbandry practices, while also serving as a key demonstration site for the wider industry.

This unique event brings together 13 collaborating companies, and IPM will have a substantial plot showcasing a range of varieties.

We look forward to welcoming you there!

We were privileged to be planting in such a beautiful location in Cornwall 🌱

This early trial (90–100 days) is an important step in evaluating the next generation of salad and early maincrop varieties. Alongside Paradox and Serenity, we’re also testing several coded varieties that we hope to bring to the market soon.

We look forward to sharing how these varieties perform over the coming months.

🌱 Planning for the season ahead is well underway.

This time of year is focused on IPM planning and organising seed for the coming season. We’re working closely with PB growers across the North of Scotland to supply high-health seed, which will then be multiplied by our commercial growers.
Most seed will be delivered in new boxes for improved ventilation and storage, with two dedicated hauliers ensuring efficient deliveries.

IPM was present at Agrotica, Thessaloniki, from 12 - 15 March supporting our key distributor Geomat and our varieties Banba, Electra, Maverick, Buster, Proxima & Supernova which offer the Greek growers excellent options to meet their diverse needs.
