🚓 Community Patrols in Sallins 🚓
Members of Naas Gardaí carried out high-visibility foot patrols in Sallins, with particular attention given to the Grand Canal area.

These patrols provide an opportunity to engage with the local community, offer reassurance, and help ensure that public spaces remain safe and welcoming for everyone to enjoy.

We would like to thank the many residents and visitors who stopped for a chat during the evening. Your support and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

If you see us out and about, don't hesitate to say hello.

Doesn't Sallins look well? Thank you to everyone who gives of their time to help Sallins Tidy Towns 🌺 BTW don't forget the Sallins Business Association Summer Family Day & Business Expo on Saturday June 6th. 🍿🎤🧚‍♀️ Some updates - *The Sallins Road Active Travel Scheme from interim to permanent? Kildare County Council has an allocation from the National Transport Authority (NTA) for the Sallins Active Travel Scheme. This will be delivered in two phases, and the Sustainable Transport Team are working towards the end of July to publish a Part 8 for the first phase which covers the southern end of the scheme.
*Jakes Law - 30 kph speed limit byelaws for housing estates taken in charge in County Kildare. These byelaws are an important safety measure to reduce speeds in residential areas. The Council passed new byelaws in December 2025 to implement ‘Jake’s Law’ which sets a mandatory 30km/h speed limit in residential housing estates taken in charge by Kildare County Council this will now come into effect in July this year.
*Sallins/Monread Road Roundabout - Funding has been allocated to examine an alternative to the zebra crossings across the two lane width approaches.
*Sallins Settlement Plan – thank you to everyone who made a submission on the draft plan. The next step is the publication of the Chief Executive’s Report which is due on June 15th/16th.
*The recent works between The Railway Inn and Osberstown Drive were carried out by Gas Networks Ireland. The current reinstatement is temporary in nature, and the contractor will return to complete the permanent reinstatement when the infill has settled.
