We want to go back to the mountains

The Grimsel pass, awesome ride up to it and stunning views over the dam when you reach near the top.

We have a bucket list of passes and roads to tick off before I hang the Helmet up in many years to come, this was one of them.

The Grimsel Pass is a 2,164-meter-high (7,100 ft) in the beautiful Swiss Alpine mountains, beautiful sweeping road and that famous dam with murky blue water awaits you after the climb.

Such a ride up and wasnt to busy either for us which was a bonus as we had a lot of the scenery to ourselves.

All clean and sexy again with all sorts of untold bugs dropping from her, few more topbox passport stickers added and definitely a bit more bonding done with the bike, feels like we have really done stuff together and she was absolutely faultless on the trip ...... do you get attached to your bikes ?

We finished off with 2278 miles for a week and a bit which wasnt bad going when initially we were going to take it easy and had a rough map for 1600 miles, but way to many awesome roads to not try and cover them and we felt good on the bike and the temp was dead on, so we just kept going.

First major trip (outside of camping weekends) with the Lone Rider soft panniers as well, dropping the big metal tins for something a bit more streamlined and outside of the "fun" loading in the red bags every time im the morning, the weight distribution is fantastic versus the hard panniers, didnt feel it at all on any of the pass switchbacks, so complete convert and didnt feel the security of them was an issue at all either.

Anyway, class adventure been toooooo long since we have had a proper bike trip with both of us on the bike, so planning underway for next year ..... might do a bit more work on the next one rather than 4 days lol

Now to download some memory cards.

From the beautiful Cotswolds, we worked our way up on the motorway for a while, the with time to spare took a run out to White Peak Distillery (Wireworks Whisky) my favourite English Whisky and putting out some great liquid, which lined us up for a run through the Peak District to finish off the day at the ferry.

Loading on the boat, watched the end of the match (il say nothing) and now just coming into a calm Belfast and a short trip home to unpack.

Think ive burnt through a fair few memory cards, so plenty of spam posts still coming your way.

Tired, bruised, skint, sweaty, dirty, dusty, burnt ........ but very very happy and relaxed
