# Thailand Makes An Amendment To The Visa-Free Entry Rule:

Thailand has suspended the sixty-day visa-free entry period for travellers from ninety-three countries.

The revised rules will take effect 15 days after publication in the Royal Gazette of Thailand. Until then, existing rules will remain valid.

Most affected travellers will be reverted to their previous 30-day visa-free entry period.

Thai authorities say the main reasons for this move are national security concerns and the misuse of tourist visas for unauthorised employment.

Tourism data shows that international visitors stay for an average of about nine days, well below the sixty-day limit.

Indian travellers will now need to closely monitor whether India will remain in the 30-day visa-free category when the final notification is issued.

Indian tourists going on general five- to ten-day holidays will not face the changed entry rules, but backpackers, digital nomads and long-term travellers will now have to apply for an e-visa.

# This Year The Trip To Mount Kailash Will Be More Expensive.

The pilgrimage to the sacred Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar will become more expensive in 2026.

The total fee for the pilgrimage has been increased by 20 per cent, bringing it to two lakh nine thousand rupees per pilgrim.

The main reasons for this increase are fluctuations in the US dollar exchange rate, expenses in Tibet, and changes in travel and logistics costs within India.

The Ministry of External Affairs accepts payment in US dollars for the Tibet segment. This charge includes visa fees, medical support, accommodation, transport, and other services required while in Chinese territory.

Meanwhile, the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam, which manages the Indian portion of the pilgrimage, has increased its charges by eight thousand rupees.

The revised Indian-leg package now costs sixty-five thousand rupees per pilgrim and includes transport, accommodation, and guide services.

As a result, the total pilgrimage fee has increased from one lakh seventy four thousand rupees in 2025 to two lakh nine thousand rupees in 2026.

The yatra is scheduled to commence from Lipulekh Pass on July 4, 2026.

This year, 10 batches of 50 pilgrims each are expected to undertake the pilgrimage.

For Hindus, Mount Kailash is the abode of Lord Shiva, and taking a holy dip in Lake Mansarovar and performing the sacred circumambulation are spiritually significant acts that lead to salvation.

# India Is A Leading Global Destination For Medical Travel:

India is steadily strengthening its position as a leading global destination for medical value travel.

This sector is projected to grow from Eight Billion US Dollars in 2025 to Sixteen Billion US Dollars by 2030.

According to a report, the global medical value travel market is expected to reach approximately two hundred eighty billion US dollars by 2030.

The primary driver of this surge in medical travel in India is the affordable, high-quality, and timely healthcare services available to foreign patients.

Most foreign patients are choosing to travel to India for treatment because they have the opportunity to utilize modern healthcare treatments along with methods like yoga and Ayurveda.

The Indian government is playing a major role in attracting more foreign patients.

Key measures include the introduction of AYUSH visas, the creation of regional medical hubs, and the expansion of digital access to facilitate patient access and travel.

These efforts aim to make India an easy and convenient healthcare destination for international travelers.
