Attention all pilots: This is a genuine cause

Sincerely request your contributions towards this project which is close to all our hearts - Safety of Pilots

The Bir-Billing mountain range spans above 100 km, and mobile network access is limited.

This project aims to build our own network for tracking devices.

The more funds raised , the more towers we can install, leading to better coverage.

Your support will make a significant difference—please contribute generously! -

Badari Duddupudi & Manoj Shetty you are putting in a great effort towards our sport , I personally endorse this super initiative.

KIND ATTENTION :

Paragliding Pilots & All Concerned - Our previous ceiling of 5000 feet AMSL for Paragliding, has been reduced to 4000 feet AMSL due to air traffic congestion in our flying airspace.
We have written to the concerned authorities & presented our case to not reduce from how low the current ceiling already is. Hope they see & appreciate the Requirements of our sport.

Thanks & best,
Team KAPA

Greetings from KAPA !

This is in response to a recent post by a certain individual in a Paragliding forum regarding visiting pilots coming to fly in Kamshet.

1. There is absolutely no Fees for visiting pilots wishing to come & fly in Kamshet at the moment. No such Fees has ever been collected by anyone.
2. There is absolutely no obligation for visiting pilots to stay at any School or Club in Kamshet. There are plenty of hotels & lodges available for stay.
3. Site Registration Fees are duly paid by all who visit Bir & Bilaspur from Kamshet, including myself (Avi, Templepilots) & have amazing relationships with all concerned.
4. We don’t need to remind pilots to be more discerning of FB Posts, specially if they concern them in anyway.
5. Please check the facts for yourself than believe someone who has an axe to grind with some school or individual.

As a community let us also be wary of individuals who seek to divide the community based on different regions, Kamshet, Bir, Bilaspur & so.
We share one Sky & it’s rather immature to instigate such divisiveness.

KAPA’s Current Status & stand -

This is what happens everywhere in the world & we should follow the same.

1. There is a Site Registration Fees for all pilots + they need to have Insurance (or the liability of an accident comes on us).

2. We also need this Data of all Free fliers & Visiting Pilots to share with Local Police + ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad). This is obligatory from the Security standpoint.

We are bound as KAPA to do this & we had to form this Association because we were asked to seek all our Permissions (ATC, IAF, AAI, DC, Collector, AFMLU, SP Rural, Local Police, Forest Department, Gram Panchayat & so) under one head.

3. Our suggestions-

1. Weekly Site Registration- Rs. 1000/-
2. Monthly - Rs. 3000/-
3. Seasonal - Rs. 5000/-

We are trying for an Online form & payment Or you can Register through any of the Schools, Clubs or Tandem Operators.

The money collected goes for Site Maintenance & such. We have to reconstruct the road to Tower every year & the Schools pay for it.
Other expenditures include paying the Local Land Owners for all the Flying sites, the amounts keep increasing substantially with every passing flying Season.

The above mentioned Registration Fees for all Visiting Pilots (from India & abroad) has not yet been finalised or implemented. As with all Associations, there are differences & regular politics & things beyond control & thus delayed.
We look forward to your suggestions.

For Visiting Pilots : You are more than welcome. We are here for each other, you needn’t go by hearsay. Lots n lots of pilots come n enjoy their flying & have been for years. It’s a 8 Month Season here & we almost fly every single day. If you face any problem/harassment or any untoward situation please feel free to call me personally on 9822433052 & I will be happy to help you out & try my level that you have the best experience of flying here. Not everything is in my control but I will make sure you have a good time (as the Vice President of KAPA) or even as your new Flying friend.

If you have any complaints or grievances, please free to address them here & we will like KAPA Members to be answerable & accountable for all that they do & practice.

Flight Safety - is pretty high on our agenda & we don’t wish to give media more opportunities to destroy this beautiful sport at this nascent stage in our country. No one has ever been able to Ban Flying here & we wish to keep it that way.

We also recommend that we interact in a dignified & amicable way where creative solutions are possible. We believe if there is no ill-will, it’s always possible to find ways to get ahead together.

Wishing all pilots the best Flying Season of their lives.

One Sky
🙏❤️
