Hotel Mioni Royal San in MonteGrotto Terme, Italy is a perfect base for exploring this region of Italy. With Padua, Verona, Venice, and beyond a short train ride away, this was the perfect mix of convenience and calm we were looking for!

Look closely. Every one of these is an individual stone. 🤯

Mosaics like this are laid piece by piece, and up close they're even more incredible. It reminded me of my jewelry-making days, when I bought stones just like these for necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. 💎

And then I looked up and realized where I was. Literally the top of the church, with the dome right there. 😍 Moments like this are why I always say the best part of travel is the detail most people walk right past.

The best view in Rome might not be where you think. 🌿✨

From up here you can look down over the gardens of the Vatican, quieter and more peaceful than the crowds below. Then look out across the city: the Tiber River, ancient Rome, and in the distance, the Forum and the Colosseum. 🏛️

Is the climb worth it? Absolutely. It's about 17 euro, it's not that bad, and depending on your pace it takes around 30 to 45 minutes. Give yourself a good 30 minutes at the top to take it all in, then head back down and reward yourself with gelato. 🍦

Before you leave Rome, you have to do this. 🪙

Back to the water, coin in your right hand, toss it over your left shoulder, and the legend says you'll return to the Eternal City. ✨

Trevi Fountain is one of Rome's busiest attractions, but timing is everything. We went on a Monday afternoon and the line moved well, with crowd control letting people in and out in waves. We even got a few mini photo shoots in. 📸

Your game plan:

✔️ Bring patience for the line
✔️ Or go at the crack of dawn for the quietest experience

Rain or shine, the Spanish Steps deliver. 🌧️✨
Built in the 1720s and still Rome's favorite meeting spot. Pro tip: keep your feet moving, because sitting on the steps can cost you up to 400 euro! 😅

Rome humbled us in the best way. 🇮🇹✨
From a boutique stay in Campo de’ Fiori to late-entry magic at the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain crowds, Spanish Steps at night, and the best gelato + pizza in between; this day in Rome was equal parts chaos and awe.

And the view from our rooftop? Absolutely unreal.
