Life and Travel Blog

Although we have traveled to many places in the world, I wouldn’t say we are seasoned veterans. Every place we go we learn new things about traveling. I wouldn’t say that we share our travel adventures in our videos like a professional, but more of a silly and fun way.

Since 2002 we have worked for DoDDS overseas schools. We teach the children of our service men and women serving in countries all over the world. Well, they are all over the world. We’ve only worked in Okinawa, Japan and Vicenza, Italy. It is a true honor to be in service to our country in this way. When we first got hired, all we could keep saying was this was Disneyland for teachers. I think 18 years later we still feel the same way.

I think the whole reason we wanted to start this blog was to chronicle our adventures together so when we get older, we would have fond memories to look back on. As we started through this journey, we realized that we don’t have to wait until we are old to enjoy our memories. Sometimes we watch old videos and just sit and laugh until our gut hurts. Another reason was to share our adventures with our family and friends back home. You can get homesick living overseas, especially around the holidays. We just wanted to stay in touch with everyone.

Funny story though, it took moving back to the states after Okinawa, to really start our video journey. I think my favorite firsts come from our trip down Hwy 101 to San Francisco. I believe it was the curvy mountain roads that got me really started. Tim was driving and I was video taping. I realized half way in that someone who gets car sick easily should keep their eyes on the road, not a camera. Once we emerged at the Pacific Ocean though, it was worth it.
