🥂 She called me for help with a vacation I didn’t book. And there’s a lesson here worth sharing.
A while back, I spent time putting together a vacation quote for a client.
We discussed the resort, accommodations, pricing, and details of her trip.
She ultimately decided to book through Costco Travel instead.
And here’s the interesting part.
The price I had provided was identical.
Same vacation. Same price.
The difference wasn’t in what she was paying.
It was in who would be there when she needed help.
Fast forward to a problem with her reservation.
She needed assistance. Not another sales pitch. Not another confirmation email. She needed someone who understood her trip and could help resolve the issue.
Instead, she found herself dealing with a call center, trying to explain her situation to someone who hadn’t been involved in planning her vacation.
Long hold times. Different representatives. Limited ability to resolve the problem.
And eventually?
My phone rang.
She was hoping I could help.
And I genuinely understood why she called.

Even when we know exactly what needs to happen.

Who knows your travel plans.

Who can communicate with the supplier, work through problems, and help navigate the unexpected.
