One of the things we love about riding with Wendell — he’s always telling you a little something about where you are. 🇯🇲

Here we’re heading down Milford Road in Ocho Rios as he points out local churches, the library and the school.

Nothing fancy. Just a little bit of Ocho Rios you might otherwise drive right past without knowing anything about it.

Picked up some cerasee tea at the grocery store in Ocho Rios. 🇯🇲

We’ve also got some dried cerasee at home that Miss Connie gave us, stored away in glass jars.

Coming to Jamaica? You should know what ackee is. 🇯🇲

Jaime and Ian learned about ackee — along with other Jamaican fruits, herbs and their traditional uses — while spending time with Wendell on their honeymoon.

It was also their first trip outside the United States.

Before the trip was even over, they told us:

“We are already planning Jamaica round two.”

And after spending the week with Wendell:

“Thank you again ‘Uncle Wendell.’ We will see you in a few months and will be in touch! ❤️”

That “Uncle Wendell” part might tell you more about Jamaica One Love Tours than anything we could write ourselves.

Wendell might pick you up at Montego Bay Airport. He might drive you to Ocho Rios, Nine Mile or Dunn’s River Falls. But somewhere along the way, he’s probably going to introduce you to somebody, pull over at a roadside stand, teach you something about Jamaica or show you something you never would have found on your own.

Here at Breadnut Hill, just outside Ocho Rios, that meant meeting Dennis the Spice Man and getting a lesson on ackee — Jamaica’s national fruit and half of the classic Jamaican breakfast, ackee and saltfish.

That’s what having a private driver in Jamaica can be.

Not just getting from point A to point B.

Having somebody there who knows the island, knows the people and becomes part of your Jamaica story.
