Meet Robo Man. 🇯🇲

His name is Ryan, and you can find him working at Island Village in Ocho Rios.

We started talking about his work and, eventually, about tips. What stayed with me wasn’t what he earns when someone tips him — it was how he talked about the times they don’t.

No bitterness. No complaint. Just gratitude for the opportunity to work and appreciation for whatever someone chooses to give.

There was a lot of grace in the way he said it.

These are some of my favorite moments in Jamaica — when you stop long enough to talk with somebody, learn their name and hear a little of their story.

Jamaica One Love Tours intentionally brings our guests to Pineapple Craft Market in Ocho Rios. 🇯🇲

We believe experiencing Jamaica should also mean supporting the local people and communities that make the island special.

Known as the “People’s Market,” Pineapple is a big market with many local vendors — and they want everyone to have an opportunity to make a sale.

When we filmed this in March 2025, Mitzi was Vice President of the market. Her advice? Have fun with the vendors, explore the different sections and don’t be afraid to bargain! That’s part of the experience.

And as Mitzi explains, it’s a no-hassle market. They’ll help guide you through the different sections while giving you a chance to meet and support multiple vendors.

Ian and Jamie from North Carolina have spent the past few days exploring Jamaica with Wendell — and moments like this are just one of the many reasons people love spending time with him.

He doesn’t simply take you from point A to point B. Wendell shares the stories, food, plants, places and little pieces of Jamaican life you’d probably drive right past otherwise.

And yes, my Jamaican born mother-in-law would absolutely approve of the pimento lesson. 🇯🇲

Club MoBay is one airport upgrade we always recommend when flying into Montego Bay. 🇯🇲

After experiencing it ourselves—and after hearing countless travelers share how much they appreciate it—I genuinely think it’s worth it.

For arrivals, the biggest benefit isn’t the lounge. It’s being personally greeted, moving through immigration more efficiently, and getting outside to your driver with less hassle.

For departures, that’s when you’ll really enjoy the Club MoBay lounge with complimentary food, drinks, comfortable seating, and a relaxing place to wait for your flight.

Is it necessary? No.
