🌸 Hitachi Seaside Park
One of the most famous flower parks in Japan, especially if you’re near Ibaraki—you’re actually quite close already 👀
⸻
🌊 What makes it special
* Massive park (~190 hectares) filled with seasonal flowers all year
* Famous for the blue nemophila (baby blue eyes) covering entire hills in spring (Instagram viral spot)
* In autumn, the hills turn red with kochia (broom grass)
* Has:
* 🎡 Ferris wheel & small amusement park
* 🚴 Cycling paths
* 🚂 Seaside train inside the park
* 🌿 Picnic + BBQ areas
⸻
🌼 Best time to visit
* April → May: Nemophila (peak right now 👀🔥)
* Late March → April: Tulips & daffodils
* Summer: Sunflowers
* October: Red kochia
👉 Right now (mid-April) is actually prime time for the blue flower hills.
⸻
📍 Access
* Nearest station: Katsuta Station (JR Joban Line) → bus to park
* By car: about 1 km from Hitachi Seaside Park IC
⸻
⚠️ Important tip (very real)
* Expect HEAVY crowds during nemophila peak
* Best strategy:
* Go before 8–9 AM
* Or late afternoon
* Weekends = traffic + long lines (you already mentioned this earlier—100% true)
