Chisyakuin Temple
One of my favorite place. Not so many sightseeing people and silent mood. You can be relaxed sitting on the floor seeing the beautiful garden.
The painting on slide doors of Hasegawa Tohaku is also excellent.
Close to Kyoto National Museum and Sanjusangendo Temple.

Every month 21st ＆22nd are the days of flea market in the vicinity of Sh*tennoji Temple. You can see around the market and negotiate the price if you want. English speaking guide will help your talking. You can find antique products or traditional Japanese cloth and kimono. And these are incredibly reasonable price.
After the shopping, we will go to the Japanese garden of the temple and taste matcha at the traditional tea house.

We will join the zen meditation inside the venerable temple buildings held by Sh*tennoji Temple for the public (cost free) and go to the traditional Japanese garden and Osaka City Art Museum.
This day's zen meditation will be conducted inside the five-story pagoda. (Special occasion) A priest will explain how to make a zen meditation in English before the event.
Osaka City Art Museum will have an exibition of Nitten. Most important gathering exibition of traditional and modern arts and crafts by Japanese temporary artists.

Mountain hike less than 10km. We will go through Kitanozaka area and head for Nunobiki Herb Garden on foot. There are water falls, a water reserving pond known as the place of bird.watching. From the observation deck, you can see the panolama view of Kobe City. And you can enjoy the seasonal flowers in the Herb Garden.
The national licensed guide living in Kobe City will explain in English.
The route is not so hard but including steep hill climbing. Athletic wear and shoes are necessary. Water more than 500ml and lunch are necessary. There is eating place at herb garden but it is high price.

Sh*tennoji Temple has a good Japanese garden. Here is not crowded like Kyoto temples. You can drink matcha tea at the traditional tea house Washoan which was donated by Konosuke Matsush*ta. You can also practice zen meditation on certain several days in a month.
