We had the pleasure of hosting a lovely mother and son from Italy for a private calligraphy session. Over coffee and conversation, they spent a relaxing afternoon immersing themselves in Japanese culture.

Together, they practiced meaningful characters: Friend (友), Cherry Blossom (桜), and their names in Katakana. After careful practice, they selected elegant scrolls to bring their final artwork to life—the perfect compact memory to take home.

Shared memories on matching scrolls.
We hosted two close friends from Germany for a private calligraphy session.

They spent time mastering meaningful concepts like Ocean (海) and Journey (旅), followed by their personalized Kanji names: Lea (礼音) and Marlene (真礼音). To honor their friendship, both names were gifted with the shared Kanji character "礼" (Rei).

To complete their masterpieces, they applied custom stencil art to their original hanging scrolls, adding a modern, decorative touch to traditional art.

Creating matching masterpieces in Toyosu.

We had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful couple for a completely private calligraphy session.

The wife brought prior experience to practice Hope (希望) and Flight (飛翔), while her husband focused on Summer (夏), Family (家族), and his custom Kanji name.
Together, they created matching traditional hanging scrolls to mark their Tokyo journey.

We recently hosted three colleagues from France for a private calligraphy session. They dedicated their time to mastering profound concepts with the brush: Courage (勇気)🗡️

Loved hosting two wonderful colleagues from France who decided to stay a bit longer in Japan to explore its culture.

In our private session, they practiced two beautiful Japanese idioms;
🕊️ 以心伝心 (Ishin-Denshin): Heart-to-heart communication / Unspoken understanding.
🌸 花鳥風月 (Kacho-Fugetsu): Experiencing the beauties of nature (Flower, Bird, Wind, Moon).

To top off their experience, they took home their custom Kanji names:
