I usually bring one fluffy travel companion with me on vacation... but this time in Tohoku I ended up with a whole crew 🥹✨

Just don’t ask me to pick a favorite 😭 Between Eevee, Kirby, Hachiware, and Baymax, there’s no way I can choose 🫶🏻

Shiogama Shrine in Miyagi Prefecture is one of the prettiest less-known sakura spots I’ve visited in Japan 🌸

While most people head to the famous cherry blossom locations, this Shrine is much calmer and more local. What makes this place really unique is its rare “Shiogama Sakura”, a late-blooming cherry blossom that has from 35 to 60 petals per flower (!!!!) and blooms a little later than most sakura in Japan, so you can still enjoy hanami here even after the main season is over.

There are over 300 cherry trees around the shrine and even a Pokéfuta nearby if you collect Pokémon manholes 🥹

Definitely one of my favorite spring spots near Sendai! The shrine sits on top of a hill overlooking the town, so keep in mind that you’ll have to climb quite a few stairs!

🚃 To get there: take the train from Sendai Station to Shiogama Station (around 45 minutes), then it’s about a 15–20 minute walk through town to the shrine.

Save this for your trip next year!

Wild Pokémon appeared at PokéPark KANTO! ⚡️🌿

Walking through the park and suddenly spotting Pokémon everywhere feels is such a cute experience 🥹✨ Here are the main areas where you can find them:

🌿 Pokémon Forest: a beautiful nature trail with 600+ life-sized Pokémon hidden in adorable story-like scenes
🎡 Sedge Town: between rides, food stalls and parades (don’t miss Pika Pika Paradise + Vee Vee Voyage!)

Still can’t believe I survived the ticket war and actually got to visit PokéPark 😭 I should probably make a full guide someday!

🚆 From Shinjuku: Odakyu Line → Yomiuriland-mae Station + bus 01 (~1h10)
🎟️ Tickets go on sale 2 months in advance (example: July 2 visit → sales open May 2 at 6PM JST)

Sometimes the best way to rediscover your own city is simply by walking through it with a camera 📸

That’s exactly what I did with Barcelona and the OM SYSTEM OM-3 .generation - wandering through spots filled with modernist architecture, gardens, and quiet corners beyond the busy streets around La Sagrada Família and Gaudí’s famous landmarks.

What I love most about the OM-3 for street photography is how effortless it feels to use. It’s compact, lightweight, and incredibly fast, making it perfect for capturing spontaneous moments and everyday life in motion! 😍

Some stunning spots worth exploring in Barcelona:

1️⃣ Eixample: modernist architecture defines this neighborhood.
2️⃣ Hotel Peninsular: opened in 1876, it occupies a historic building in the heart of Barcelona’s Raval neighborhood.
3️⃣ Panoramic view from MNAC / Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya
4️⃣ MACBA and CCCB: Museum of Contemporary Art + Centre for Contemporary Culture.
5️⃣ Hivernacle del Parc de la Ciutadella: built 135 years ago by Josep Amargós i Samaranch.
6️⃣ La Central del Raval: perfect for coffee and book browsing.
7️⃣ Piscines Municipals de Montjuic built for the 1992 Olympic Games!

✨ There’s also a cashback promotion running until June 14, so with summer just around the corner, now’s a great time to upgrade your gear 👀

I’m usually much more of a photo person, but during my last cherry blossom trip around Tohoku I ended up filming so many things along the way 🌸

So I decided to turn everything into a little “moving postcards from Japan” post!

I feel like when people think about Japan, they often picture the busy city side first and loads of tourists everywhere, but one of the things I love most is how calm and comforting it can feel once you get to visit lesser-known areas.

I hope you like this post! 💙

Welcome to Hirosaki Park during cherry blossom season 🌸✨

I took all of these photos some weeks ago during peak bloom, and it became one of the prettiest sakura spots I’ve ever visited 🌸 The huge cherry trees, the dreamy pink tunnels, and the beautiful reflections on the water were even more stunning in person! I’d absolutely recommend Hirosaki Park to anyone who loves cherry blossom season 🫶🏻

I also recently collaborated with and brought along their 35mm f/1.4 lens for this trip 📸 Paired with my OM-D E-M10 Mark IV, it ended up being such a fun combo for capturing both the lovely sakura scenery and other candid moments around the park ✨

Hope you enjoy these shots as much as I enjoyed taking them 🤍

Today is Children’s Day (子供の日) in Japan! ✨

One of the loveliest traditions is putting up Koinobori (鯉のぼり, carp streamers), which dance in the wind and represent children growing strong and bright 🎏

📷 These photos were taken in Akita and Tokyo. The first spot caught our eye while we were driving, and we couldn’t resist stopping to capture it 😍
