FREE Wi-Fi if you're visiting Tokyo & Kyoto!

Widely available at airports, major train stations, cafes, and convenience stores.

Major Hubs & TransitAirports: Free, unlimited Wi-Fi is available at Narita Airport (NRT) and Haneda Airport (HND).

Train Stations: JR East Free WiFi covers all Yamanote Line stations and Shinkansen platforms in Tokyo. In Kyoto, major JR stations have localized free networks.

Tokyo Subway: You can connect to free Wi-Fi at all Tokyo Metro stations.

Popular Tourist Sites & Outdoors

Tokyo: The city-operated TOKYO FREE Wi-Fi network is available at metropolitan government buildings, parks, and major cultural landmarks.

Kyoto: The city offers KYOTO_WiFi (SSID: KYOTO_WiFi01 or KYOTO_WiFi02) at key attractions like Kinkaku-ji, Fushimi Inari Taisha, and Gion.

Cafes & Restaurants

Starbucks: Perhaps the most reliable option across both cities. They require minimal sign-ups and are widely accessible.

Fast Food: Chains such as McDonald's and Tully's Coffee offer easy-to-access free Wi-Fi.

Convenience Stores (Konbini) 7-Eleven, Lawson, and FamilyMart: All three major chains provide free Wi-Fi, but you must register an email address. Note that some of their login pages are entirely in Japanese.

ASHIYU (Hot Foot Bath) near Olives Homestay Tokyo 🤫 The best things in Tokyo are free... including this hidden local foot bath! 🦶♨️

If you’ve been doing a lot of walking lately (or just need a cheap, relaxing escape), you need to save this post. Tucked away in our neighborhood is Komorebi no Ashiyu (こもれびの足湯)—a completely FREE, beautifully maintained public hot foot bath!

It is the absolute perfect pitstop after walking along the Tamagawa Aqueduct or spending a day exploring. They have four different pools with varying temperatures (from perfectly warm to nice and hot), plenty of shade, and total nature vibes. 🌿

💡 THE COOLEST TRIVIA (Impress your friends with this!):
How is a hot spring running in the middle of the suburbs? 🤯 The water isn’t heated by natural volcanic magma—it’s actually an incredible eco-friendly neighborhood loop! Deep groundwater is pumped up and then completely heated using the leftover, recycled thermal energy from the nearby waste treatment plant. It’s clean, sustainable, and purely genius. ♻️✨

☀️ Quick Tips if you go:
🧼 Clean feet first: They have a little washing station to rinse off before you dip.
🕒 Time limit: Try to keep your soak to around 30 minutes so everyone gets a turn.
🎒 Bring a towel! (Though if you forget, they usually sell cute little souvenir ones for a couple hundred yen).
