Blue Containers. A Gable Roof. And Someone Who Refused to Build Anything Ordinary.

Day one. COSCO containers stacked on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Timber trusses skeleton rising into a grey sky. The kind of construction site that makes your neighbors stop and stare and not say anything.

Weeks later —

Stone. Everywhere. Hand-laid, course by course, covering every inch of steel that used to say "COSCO" in big white letters. A standing seam roof so dark it almost disappears into the clouds. A wraparound covered porch on the second floor with string lights already doing their job at golden hour. A ground floor patio. A BBQ. Black windows catching the last of the afternoon light.
The old barn next door? Still there. Still grey. Hasn't changed in 40 years.
The new build? Looks like it was quarried out of the earth and assembled by someone with a very specific vision and absolutely no interest in compromising on it. 🪨
