A visit to Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve is an experience not to be missed. Located in the north-west of Singapore, this vast wetland is home to a stunning array of wildlife. As we walked along the wooden boardwalks, we were surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. The wetlands were teeming with life, from the tiny mudskippers darting in and out of the water to the majestic eagles soaring overhead.

But the real stars of the show were the crocodiles, monitor lizards, and otters. We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a saltwater crocodile basking in the sun on the riverbank, as well as several monitor lizards stalking through the undergrowth. We also spotted a family of smooth-coated otters playing in the water, diving and splashing and generally having a great time. Sungei Buloh is truly a wildlife wonderland, and a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

As an international teacher, I am incredibly lucky to have the means to travel and experience new things with my wife. Our decision to follow our profession overseas has provided us with the financial stability and freedom to go on adventures, explore new cultures, and enjoy activities like skiing.

In these uncertain times, it's important to recognize and appreciate the blessings in our lives. My wife and I feel especially grateful for our ability to travel and escape the daily stresses of life. Whether it's wandering the streets of a new city or gliding down the slopes of a mountain, traveling together always brings us closer and creates memories that will last a lifetime.

Skiing, in particular, has become one of our favorite activities. Not only does it provide an adrenaline rush and a great workout, but it also allows us to enjoy the beauty of nature and bond over our shared love for adventure.

We believe that travel should not only be an opportunity for personal growth and enjoyment, but also a way to make a positive impact on the world. That's why we make a conscious effort to support sustainable tourism, help local communities, and promote cultural exchange whenever we travel.

We have a ski holiday booked for April, we cannot wait to hit the slopes again!

Siem Reap, Cambodia is home to one of the most iconic historical sites in the world: the ancient city of Angkor. The grand circuit tour is the perfect way to experience the full breadth of this ancient civilization, starting with the walled city of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire. You'll see the famous Bayon Temple, with its massive stone faces, and the Terrace of the Elephants, an impressive platform used for public ceremonies.

As the day comes to a close, make your way to Phnom Bakheng, a temple-mountain located just outside of Angkor Thom. Climb to the top for a breathtaking view of the surrounding jungle and the distant temples. As the sun sets, the sky turns a deep orange and the temples take on a golden glow, making for a truly unforgettable experience. Take in the serene atmosphere and enjoy the peacefulness of this ancient site, a fitting end to your grand circuit tour of Siem Reap.

There are few experiences quite as awe-inspiring as visiting the ancient city of Angkor Wat at sunrise. As we set out at 4:30 am, the darkness was still thick around us, but we could already feel the anticipation building. We knew that what we were about to witness was something truly special.

As we approached the site, we could make out the silhouette of the towering temples rising up from the jungle. As the first rays of light began to peek over the horizon, the ancient stones gradually came to life. The intricate carvings and detailed bas-reliefs were suddenly illuminated, revealing the incredible skill and artistry of the builders.

One of the most striking things about Angkor Wat is its sheer scale. The main temple alone covers an area of nearly 200,000 square meters, and is surrounded by a massive moat that stretches for more than a kilometer. As we walked around the site, we were constantly reminded of the vastness of the ancient city and the sheer number of people it must have once housed.

The main temple at Angkor Wat is a marvel of architectural and engineering skill. Built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II, it is a perfect example of the Khmer style of architecture, which is characterized by its intricate carvings, towering spires, and stunningly detailed bas-reliefs. Inside the temple, we were able to explore the dark and mysterious chambers, many of which are adorned with intricate carvings of gods and demons.

But Angkor Wat is more than just a single temple. It is a complex of temples and other buildings spread out over an area of more than 400 square kilometers. We spent the whole day exploring the many different temples and ruins that make up this incredible site, each one more fascinating than the last.

As the sun began to set, we made our way back to the main temple. The light was beginning to fade, and the shadows were growing longer. But even as the sun disappeared below the horizon, the ancient stones continued to glow, a reminder of the incredible civilization that once flourished here.

In conclusion, visiting Angkor Wat at sunrise is an unforgettable experience. The ancient city of Angkor Wat is a true architectural wonder, and the scale and skill evident in its construction is truly breathtaking. The main temple and surrounding complex are must-see for any traveler to Cambodia, and the memories of the experience will be treasured forever.

A few Years ago we had the privilege of visiting an elephant sanctuary in Sri Lanka, and it was an experience that I will never forget. The sanctuary is dedicated to the conservation and welfare of elephants, and it was inspiring to see the work that they do to protect these magnificent creatures. As soon as I arrived at the sanctuary, I was greeted by the sight of several elephants roaming freely in the lush green fields. These elephants had been rescued from difficult situations such as captivity, abuse and injury and were now living in a safe and natural environment. I had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the elephants, feeding them fruits and vegetables and even getting to give them a bath in the nearby river. It was a truly humbling experience to be able to interact with these gentle giants and see the trust and affection they had for the caretakers. The sanctuary also had an educational center where I learned about the conservation efforts and the challenges that elephants face in the wild. It was a sobering reminder of the importance of protecting these animals and their habitats, and the crucial role that sanctuaries like this play in their survival. Overall, visiting the elephant sanctuary was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. Not only is it a chance to see these magnificent creatures up close, but it's also an opportunity to learn about conservation and the importance of protecting these animals for future generations. It was an experience that will stay with me for a long time.
