🌿 Congratulations to the Government and people of Lao PDR on the inscription of Hin Nam No National Park in July 2025 as the country's first natural UNESCO World Heritage Site — and to Viet Nam, whose partnership through Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng National Park made this the first transboundary World Heritage property in South-East Asia.

Last week, partners gathered in Lao PDR's Thakhek District for the official reception of the UNESCO World Heritage certificate. This achievement honours the local communities whose traditional knowledge has sustained these forests, caves, and rivers across generations, as well as the governments and partners whose commitment made it possible. UNESCO Bangkok is proud to stand with both countries as they take on the privilege and responsibility of custodianship. 🇱🇦 🇻🇳
