Liberia's Independence Day Message From Our GM
On July 26, 1847, Liberia proudly announced to the world its status as a free and independent nation. Through adversity and triumph, our liberating journey has carved a distinctive place for us in the annals of history. This Independence Day, we not only celebrate our 176 years of sovereignty but also pay a heartfelt tribute to Liberia, a land that epitomizes resilience and a steadfast spirit.
As Liberians, the essence of freedom and independence is ingrained deep within our hearts. We carry an everlasting legacy of courage and determination that has crowned this nation with 176 years of governance by the people, for the people in spite of a few historical interruptions.
As we mark this historic occasion, we celebrate not just our independence, but also the values of democracy, unity, and resilience that have defined our nationhood. Let this be a day to rekindle our unwavering commitment to sustain the peace, prosperity, and sovereignty we hold so dear.
May we all raise a toast to commemorate and honour our ancestors and their gallant fight for freedom. Let us remember and celebrate the strength in unity that sculpted the vibrant nation that Liberia is today, unfaltering to forge ahead in an ever-changing world.
