This soap is known to be the oldest soap in the world -made with only natural ingredients & traditional techniques dating back to the 3rd century BC!!!! It’s cold pressed, and it takes 9 months to cure!! It’s a product of love & it helps preserve a beautiful tradition.

Oman- the Cradle of Scent!
Everything and everywhere smells amazing in Oman!!!

Oman is the heart of six-thousand-year old frankincense trade.
But other than the Frankincense itself, Omani women create other fabulous blends or bakhur (incense, often oud, soaked in Arabian treasures like myrrh, musk, or rose).

Both men & women use the fragrant smoke of the incense to perfume their clothes throughout the day. There’s no meeting, no meal, not even a conversation, that will go by without someone burning some exotic fragrance.

This is certainly a fragrance- obsessed culture and I love everything about this aspect!!

During my recent travel to Oman I had a pleasure to have a private tour of the Amouage perfume factory!
Nothing like learning from the best 😉

Amouage is a luxury perfume brand based in Oman. Most of the fragrances are based on the most famous scent of Arabia- the Frankincense (of course)!

I tested their earliest (1980s) and most recent collections of fragrances and essential oils.

Divine sensory experience (and very educational)!

Sunday was a very big day- GRAND OPENING of my new business venture - DESERT TALES!!!

We have been working with my friends in Arabia tirelessly for almost a year. We have opened our distillery in Petra, Jordan & begun our production there several months ago. Now I’m finally introducing it to the West!

Desert Tales offers:
- Organic Frankincense essential oil that we distill with my Bedouin business partners in our own distillery in Petra, Jordan
- Natural, exotic perfume oils
- Bedouin plant-based kohl & handcrafts
- Levantine organic soap made by Syrian refugee ladies in Jordan. Our support helps them build a new life in exile & feed their families

Our private opening event was a huge success! All guests were very involved, supportive & loved our products! We almost sold out of some products!
