El Tajín is one of several cities that benefit and becomes relevant during the period after the abandonment of Teotihuacan, this human geographic movement possibly represented an important political and religious change in the cities located on the coasts of the Gulf of Mexico and in the Tlaxcala-Puebla Valley. The main aesthetic characteristic of the exposed structures are the niches that suggest that the transit city received all kind of goods through these niches distributed throughout the city, it is possible that the niches were also used to leave offerings to the gods. The archaeological zone is located in the state of Veracruz and the closest town is the town of Papantla.

El Tajín es una de varias ciudades que se ven beneficiadas y se vuelve relevante durante el período posterior al abandono de Teotihuacan, este movimiento geográfico humano, posiblemente representó un importante cambio político y religioso en las ciudades ubicadas en las costas del golfo de México y en el Valle de Tlaxcala-Puebla. La característica estética principal de las estructuras al descubierto son los nichos que sugieren que la ciudad de paso recibia toda clase ofrendas a través de estos nichos distribuidos por toda la ciudad, es posible que los nichos también fuesen usados para dejar ofrendas a los dioses. La zona arqueológica se encuentra en el estado de Veracruz y la localidad más cercana es el pueblo de Papantla.

The main building of the ancient city is dedicated to (Lord of dawn) an advocation of (Feather searpent). From 1000 to 1200 aprox the escalonated temple was decorated in stones carved in the shape of vultures and eagles devouring hearts.
