Air cargo volumes in Mexico have recorded five consecutive months of growth, driven by international trade and expanding demand across Asian markets.
From January to May, Mexico handled more than 507,000 tons of air freight—a 5.5% increase compared to the same period last year. International cargo alone grew 8.3%, highlighting the continued strength of global trade.

⚠️ Port Congestion Continues to Challenge Supply Chains

The Port of Manzanillo, Mexico’s main gateway for maritime trade on the Pacific coast, continues to face increasing operational pressure. Growing cargo volumes and ongoing road construction along key access routes are creating additional challenges for ground transportation and overall supply chain efficiency.

Recent figures highlight the current situation:

🚧 Up to 3-hour delays caused by roadworks near the port.
🚛 More than 3,600 trucks enter the port every day.
📈 Over 1 million truck movements were recorded from January to October.
⚠️ More than 4,500 trucks entered the port on its busiest days.
