--Chips to ships: Nvidia plans new shipbuilding investment with Kawasaki--
Nvidia and Kawasaki Heavy Industries are partnering to develop a next-generation AI-powered digital shipyard in Japan. The collaboration will introduce AI-driven robots for tasks such as welding, painting, inspections, and material handling, while digital twin technology will simulate ship production before construction begins.
By combining Kawasaki’s shipbuilding expertise with Nvidia’s AI and robotics technologies, the project aims to improve productivity, reduce costs, enhance build quality, and address labor shortages. If successful, the initiative could accelerate AI adoption across global shipyards and reshape the future of shipbuilding.
